Tracey Lauriault

Meet Tracey Lauriault, one of Canada's most vocal open data advocates. Tracey and Hugh McGuire are the principle writers of datalibre.ca, a loose collective of data activists urging governments to make data about canada and canadians free and accessible to citizens.

Datalibre.ca is based on civicaccess.ca, a group of citizens which believes all levels of government should make civic information and data accessible at no cost in open formats to their citizens. We believe this is necessary to allow citizens to fully participate in the democractic process of an "information society."

Consider joining us for some very lively discussion on the civicaccess.ca mailing list!

Thanks for everything you do, Tracey. This post is part of the Canadian Leadership in the Open Access Movement series.
